Subject:
Not good, but fun
A lighthearted romp about smuggling illegal Chinese immigrants that stars Conrad Nagel, with Eleanor Hunt, Vince Barnett and Jack La Rue in major supporting roles. Low budget in the extreme and not particularly good, yet this is one of those little B-features that manages to be entertaining in spite of itself.
This 52-minute version is pared down from a 63-minute original that probably no longer exists. Okay video and audio.

just for entertainment
The director/writer was Crane Wilbur. He also made Captain Calamity which has been popular with archivers and is now has 754 views and 12th on the list. I think that he learnt his craft from Mr Gasnier (archivers will know his "reefer madness") They both made low-budget films that were entertaining and fast moving. Wilbur met Gasnier in 1913 when he was acting as the hero in the most popular serial "perils of pauline" which gasnier directed. Crane Wilbur is now mainly noted as the writer of "house of wax"
